22 - 24 August: The West Coast Bird Club and Flamingo Birding Route are organising a
"Feathers, Fossils& Flowers" weekend in Velddrif.
The organisers invite all bird clubs to enroll at
least one team of four to participate in the weekend. BLO has already
registered two teams. It should be great fun trying to identify birds and
flowers in a single competition with great prizes. The full programme that
includes expert speakers like Trevor Hadaker & flower buffs, a talk on the
origin
of birds, as well as a visit to the digs at the Fossil park & many more can
be studied on www.westerncapebirding.co.za.

I believe that this weekend will become one of the top events on the BLSA
Avitourism calender as it showcases the best that the West Coast has to
offer. It would be appreciated if you could urge all clubs to support the
West Coast Bird Club and the management committee of the Flamingo Birding
